HELP! I need about fifty early readers and reviews
The novel is finished. The Change comes out on the 1st of October.
For the past several weeks I have been sending you the research behind the book. I hope you enjoyed reading those.
Before the book goes out into the world I need your help!
A new book with no reviews is invisible. Not unpopular, invisible. Readers browsing Amazon see a cover, a description and a blank space where other people’s opinions should be, and they keep scrolling. The only thing that fixes it is a handful of real readers saying what they actually thought, in the first few days.
So I am looking for fifty people (who are not close friends or family) who will do two things:
Read it in the next ten days. It is 88,000 words, which is four or five evenings.
Leave an honest review on Amazon. I am not asking you to like it. I would rather have thirty honest reactions than a hundred polite ones.
If that is you, hit reply and say yes and I will send you the book today. No cost and nothing else attached.
If it is not you, do nothing at all and I will see you on the 1st.
Three practical notes for anyone saying yes:
Amazon requires that you have spent $50+ in the past 12 months before it will let you post any review. The rule is invisible until you try. My guess is virtually everyone has spent more than that on Amazon in the last 12 months but I had to mention it.
We can’t be friends. If we are personal friends on social media or have a family connection, Amazon will flag it and hide the review. I ask my friends and family to wait for the release on October 1 and then please do add reviews but they will likely not help before launch.
Write words, not only stars. Amazon does not count a bare star rating toward a book’s average unless the reviewer adds some text. Two sentences is enough. A rating on its own quietly does nothing.
